MANUAL TESTER
Overall Purpose:
Ensuring that software meets the needs of its users and functions efficiently. The job holder will work closely with the business analysts, developers, and end users to verify that the software meets the specified requirements and quality standards. Performing manual and automated testing on various applications and systems and reporting any defects or issues to the project team. Providing feedback and suggestions for improvement and participating in the documentation and review of test results and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and controlling the testing activities. The UAT Tester monitors the test progress and schedule, and communicates any issues or risks to the project team and stakeholders.
Assisting in the setting up of test plans that describe the scope, objectives, strategy, and approach of the testing process, and ensuring alignment with the system requirements and specifications.
Creating test cases that cover all the functionalities and features of the system and adhere to the quality standards and best practices of the organization.
Identifying data requirements of test cases and participating in data preparation.
Executing the test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures using manual or automated testing tools and techniques, and verifying the expected outcomes and behaviours of the system.
Documenting the test results, defect reports, and test logs in a clear and concise manner and sharing them with the Test Manager for review and feedback.
Collaborating with the developers in identifying and fixing the bugs found during the testing process, and retesting the system until the defects are resolved and the system meets the acceptance criteria.
Gathering and analysing data from the tests, such as test coverage, defect density, defect severity, and defect resolution time, and using them to evaluate the quality and performance of the system.
Ensuring that the system satisfies the business and technical user requirements by conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) with the end users and obtaining their feedback and approval.
Offering feedback to improve the software development process and user experience.
Participating in post-project reviews.
In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

Required Experience:
Previous proven experience of three (3) years in a UAT testing-related role with direct exposure to testing practices and methodologies.
Required Education:
An MQF Level 4 qualification in Software Testing or related IT knowledge areas.
Desirable Criteria:
An MQF Level 5 Diploma (or higher) in Business Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
Industry certifications in related subjects.
